1. December 2026: Maldives Cave Recovery – Behind the Mission

Webinar with Sami Paakkarinen

In May 2026, a team of experienced cave divers responded to a fatal diving accident in the Maldives in a recovery operation coordinated by DAN Europe. Through first-hand accounts, underwater footage and operational insights, this presentation explores the challenges of a complex cave recovery mission, the decisions made under pressure and the lessons learned from the operation.

The webinar is held by Sami Paakkarinen, a Finnish technical and cave diving instructor, expedition leader, Finnish Coast Guard officer and rescue diver. Follow this zoom-link to attend: https://NTNU.zoom.us/j/97056569504?pwd=KFLOJpfc4MJ791mCCHQqz74hGhdXRx.1
